The Dagger Torrent 10.0 is billed as a recreational kayak which can be comfortably paddled up to grade three and it certainly achieves this. Self-bailing scupper holes along each side of the kayak drain out excess water, while the top deck is designed to shed water effectively.Ĭomfortable, ‘soft grip’ grab handles on the front and back of the kayak are fitted to make carrying this boat an easy task.Ī small hatch in front of the seat, 5” across, allows you to carry lunch or a spare layer with you on the water, while a bungee further forward is perfect for holding a water bottle or throw line in place. Progressive front end design, similar in shape to that of Dagger’s top end white water kayaks, coupled with the shape of the underside of the kayak, balance the punchy nature and maneuverability that are essential for river kayaking. Adjustable, ‘keepers’ foot rests not only keep you positioned in the seat, but allow you to further drive the kayak around the river, while padded, adjustable thigh straps give you even greater control, an essential for mid-flow tight turns in white water. The molded plastic seat gives the user an active paddling position, keeping you engaged as you move downriver.

The maximum capacity of the Dagger Torrent 10.0 is 250 lb (113 kg), which makes it suitable for a wide range of paddlers. The size and shape of the Torrent 10.0 makes it unlikely you will be loading and unloading this boat alone, but at just 48 lb (22 kg), it’s an easy job for two people to move around on the land. At 30.5” (77 cm) wide, too, this boat is hard to tip, but may lack some of the nimbleness of a shorter, more traditional white water kayak. Noticeably longer than most enclosed whitewater kayaks, at 10’1” (307 cm) the Dagger Torrent 10.0 is a stable and confidence inspiring platform. The molded plastic seat becomes uncomfortable on longer days.
